Navan Road Community Council has launched a Text Alert Scheme for the Navan Road/Ashtown area. This is a service which provides Garda information relevant to the local area directly to your mobile phone.
How does the Scheme Work?
As members of the public call the Garda Station to report incidents of suspected criminal activity the Gardaí will decide if residents of the area need to be advised. If they believe the information received would benefit the community then they will contact the Service Provider, who will then send out a ‘Text Alert’ to all signed up members of the Text Alert Scheme.
Who is the Service Provider and why do we need one?
Our service provider is Grapevine Communications who have come recommended by the Gardaí as an approved provider. More information is on their website at http://www.grapevinec.com
How many messages will I receive?
Other group’s experience is that around 40 messages are sent per year.
How do I join?
Please fill in the Contact Form below and use the PayPal button to send us the €10 joining fee. The fee should cover two years’ worth of texts.
To report any incidents or suspicious activity please call Cabra Garda station on (01)6667400. Although the public desk is open from 7am-10pm the phone line is manned 24 hours a day.
