BLOOM in the Phoenix Park 2018

Hot on the heels of the three Ed Sheeran Concerts BLOOM will take place in the Phoenix Park from Thursday 31st May until Monday 4th June 2018.

This means that the Visitor’s Centre, Phoenix Cafe and Children’s Playground will be closed off  to everyone without tickets (31 May – 4 June).   Aras visits likely to be cancelled that week-end.  phoenixparkvisitorcentre@opw.ie   Phone;   01 6770095     superintendent.park@opw.ie

Important information if you are attending the Ed Sheeran concerts in the Phoenix Park

  1. Having attended the concert last night (Wednesday) we would suggest that you contact Aiken Promotions (017755800) with your ticket details to find the most convenient entrance for your seat location.  There is little or no signage outside the Park and nothing on the website to indicate which entrance to use. We attempted to enter at Ashtown Gate (you can see the venue just inside the gate) but were not allowed entry.  Instead we had to march up Castleknock Road to the Castleknock Gate.  Then down Chesterfield Avenue travelling past the venue again and then back track again into the concert.  The very young steward at the Ashtown Gate was giving out advice that it was only 5 MINUTES.  It is a good 3km walk and takes roughly 45 minutes depending on your walking ability.
  2. Again when the concert was over very imprecise exiting information was announced from the stage.  We tried to follow the information.  Again there was little signage and we found ourselves corralled back out onto Chesterfield Avenue and had to walk to Aras an Uachtarain to cut across to an exit onto Blackhorse Avenue (about 2.5km).  There was a lack of any meaningful signage outside the concert site.
  3. Weather – Don’t be fooled by the sun.  The Phoenix Park gets very chilly after the sun goes down.  It was very cold last night.  Take some warm outer clothing.

P.S.    Ed Sheeran gave a very good performance.  We hope you enjoy the night.
