Navan Road Text Alert

Navan Road Community Council launched a Text Alert Scheme for the Navan Road/Ashtown area approximately two years ago.  This is a service which provides Garda information relevant to the local area directly to your mobile phone.

How does the Scheme Work?
As members of the public call the Garda Station to report incidents of suspected criminal activity the Gardaí will decide if residents of the area need to be advised. If they believe the information received would benefit the community then they will contact the Service Provider, who will then send out a ‘Text Alert’ to all signed up members of the Text Alert Scheme.

Our Community Gardai have had some enquiries about how to join the scheme.

There are two ways to join the scheme:

Firstly, for those online, you can fill in the Contact Form on our webpage navanroad.com and use the PayPal button to send us the €10 joining fee.

Alternatively, you can also join by attending one of our monthly meetings, filling in the relevant form and paying the €10 fee.

The fee should cover two years’ worth of texts.

To report any incidents or suspicious activity please call Cabra Garda station on (01)6667400. Although the public desk is open from 7am-10pm the phone line is manned 24 hours a day.

Navan Road Community Council

Navan Road Community Council was set up in 1968 to help bring together community groups and sporting groups, so that they would have one voice when trying to get things done in the community. These days the NRCC lobbies Dublin City Council and local representatives in relation to issues such as traffic, planning and policing to name a few.
