This exhibition may be of interest to anyone living in an old Corporation house in Cabra. Retrofitting results in low-energy usage and therefore much lower running costs. It runs for the month of September.

Notice of Monthly Public Meeting – 7th September
Monthly meetings start again Wednesday next 7th September – 8pm Navan Road Parish Centre. All welcome, especially some willing new members.
Over the summer we noted-
1. Ashtown Roundabout – Trees finally trimmed 11th June 2016. Our first query to DCC in 2007 when they promised ‘to look into it’ !
Work done in 2016 by Fingal Co Council. Apart from looking much better – “A very nice cluster of trees” Dr. John McCullen OPW & Phoenix Park said – our main concern was to try make it a little safer for those living in the area or passing, who must cross there, and can now clearly see approaching traffic .
2. New Planning/Pelletstown – Appeal granted 29th July – Site is in a direct line looking across the canal from Kempton – (previously 2 football pitches with a third undeveloped )
DCC No. 3666/15 Appeal No. PL.29N.246373 = 318 dwellings comprising 176 apartments in 5/6 storeys; 142 houses; and 577 car parking spaces.
Interestingly, the Appeal Board’s report states ‘the proposed development WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE IN TERMS OF TRAFFIC SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE’, the proposed development would, therefore, be in accordance with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area. Our opinion and that of the Pelletstown Residents Associations (RCPCA and Rathborne Community Ass) is that 577 extra cars will add greatly to traffic problems in the area.

Update – 29th May
MONTHLY MEETING – Wednesday 1st June 8.00pm Parish Centre. We encourage our new attendees to consider joining us on a regular basis. We always need good people to help lighten the load.
BLOOM/PHOENIX PARK. Thurs 2nd to Mon 6th June. 9.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. each day. One of the highlights of summer, but not without its traffic issues for the Navan Road area. We try to have a meeting with organisers before the event, and have already urged in writing that they ensure traffic Gardaí on duty have some local knowledge to better direct lost souls. Last year such drivers caused delays in Baggot Road/Villa Park areas searching for directions.ASHTOWN GATE will be closed to traffic, except emergency and Park residents; CABRA GATE – No right turn inside; Parking on Chesterfield Ave. restricted; No Parking on Old Lamp Road (Triangle Rd). www.bloominthepark.com
ROUNDABOUT TREES; We were assured work to commence, (“with traffic plan in place”) on Saturday 28th May. Lower branches will be thinned out to improve visibility through the roundabout.
